Cars and Transport
I am due to be receiving a company car very soon when i start a new job. I have been told though i will need to contribute towards the tax of the vehicle. I have never heard of this before, i have had a few company cars in the past and they were always taxed and mot'd for me, all i ever had to pay was my own petrol if i used the car for social use. I do not know whether this is standard, surely the company has some sort of company car tax budget to make sure they can cover the car tax for their fleet. They do not even have that many cars! just seems unfair because i have no choice over the car and because it is a large engine the tax is very expensive. I wouldn't mind so much if i had any say in what car i had. I suppose it is not the end of the world i just thought there may be some sort of regulations in place to help me out.
