After suffering for so long when making payments for the goods and services bought online, i got a tip from a pal of mine about the easiest way of making payment online. This friend of mine told me that i had to have an account on a website called paypal. So search on the internet for this site and decided to open an account on the site. On opening a paypal account, i was asked for most of my personal information like my name, date of birth, place of birth, bank accounts that i have and nationality. I was also asked to provide an email address and password. On inquiring the purpose of the email address and pasword yet i had given them my name. They told me that the email address was to be used for communication purposes. If the site wanted to communicate with e or if i wanted to be contacted by the site, that would be possible through the email address that i gave. I saw this as a very good thing that the site was doing. Establishing communication between them and their clients and sustaining that communication. |

My best friend joined eBay market the other day, and she has already started buying items from eBay. She has a collection of items that she has already purchased online. She says that the experience is great, and the joy of belonging to such a great market is overwhelming. I visited her two weekends ago, and all we talked about is eBay. She had so many thinking to tell me about the market in a bid to lure me to join the market as well. I have no objections at all, but my greatest fear is what I stand to lose in case I am scammed, or my account is hacked. She talked of an ebay resolution center which deals with such issues, and they can refund what a person has lost, but I am not convinced yet. I have to do my own research to get a few tips on how one can manage to trade safely in the site before opening up an account with the market. My husband and I got married at a very young age. He has gotten me pregnant when we were only sixteen and we decided to tie the knot immediately after I gave birth. We were not really given the chance to know each other well before we became husband and wife and this is probably the reason why we are now going through difficult marital life. He started becoming cold a few years back when he noticed that most of my attention is directed to our son. This was when I realized that he is not matured enough to accept the fact that our child needs more attention from me. We fight a lot and sometimes things are getting really appalling. Sometimes, he chooses not to come home and I feel like he is no longer interested to our child’s welfare. Since I learned of some people getting scammed online, I've been wary of the risks of online shopping. I mean, there are a lot of smart people out there taking advantage of the less knowledgeable population. I heard of one person who got tricked into divulging personal information. It was an ebay protection program scam. The person didn't know that the program only applied to cars that are within 200 miles from you. Any offers to ship cars for free are fraudulent. Because he didn't know that, he gave the seller his information and he was asked to pay a deposit of about 10% of the total price. He never got the car and he never saw the deposit he sent since. When shopping online we have to arm ourselves with knowledge or else, we get scammed just like that. I can't imagine parting with a huge amount of money for something I was doubtful of getting for it. Anything, even paypal can be taken advantage of by those people without conscience. So, pay close attention to the terms of the bargain before parting with your money. |

eBay, one of the leading online shopping website dominating the internet industry has announced yesterday that they will be setting all of their website&rsquos default language to English. According to the announcement, the reason was because of a number of feedbacks received anonymously complaining and suggesting having ebay france in english instead of it being in French. The letter states that it is because the translation was not the proper translation in French causing a wrong interpretation about the item. eBay&rsquos headquarters is in the United States and since they only have a small following in France, they provide support to the website remotely. eBay stated that they do admit their shortcomings and the letters have caused the management to have an immediate meeting to make a decision on changing the default language to English until a permanent solution is provided. eBay has also sent their apologies to France and its Prime Minister regarding the incident. The Prime Minister has accepted the apology and has even offered to assist eBay in finding a credible translator that can work for them either in France or in America. eBay has yet to comment on this offer. |

I think i have been the victim of an elaborate scam on ebay involving a vehicle being sold abroad. I have been in contact with the so called seller and everything seemed fine. We got to the point of me paying and i sent the money via western union as requested by ebay's vehicle purchase protection program. I later found out that this doesn't exist and i had been scammed! i tried finding a ebay headquarters phone number so i could call them but i could not find anything!. I think ebay should be doing more to try and protect their customers, this has been a horrible experience and i am not sure that i am going to keep using ebay after this to be honest. I know it is not completely their fault but i felt completely led down the garden path! not a hint of help or advice from ebay about it either. I did in the end manage to get my money stopped but only after getting the police involved in the case. |
